Libraries and Laser Tag
We had the pleasure of meeting Katie with the Campbell County Library when she contacted us about using laser tag at her Comic Con themed event. What came next was the most fun meeting I’ve ever had! It was a joy helping her fit laser tag into her event and her enthusiasm for what she does was infectious.
We wanted to ask her a few questions about her event and share her expertise with you – so read on!
Hi Katie! Tell me about your event.
Hi Kristina! The Campbell County Public Library System held our very first Comic-Con event on August 1 from 10am to 2pm. The event was to celebrate the Summer Reading Program, and to reward the kids who had stuck with it over the summer. The Program Team knew we wanted to have the event a year in advance, so a lot of offices started to overflow with comic related items many months prior to the event. Our wonderful staff also started prepping and keeping us notified of comic related items around the area and really helped us promote it to our wonderful community.
Our trips to Comic Con San Diego are the reason you reached out to us! So tell me all about your organization, your role and anything else you’d like to brag to me about.
Yes – you’re right about your trips – they definitely caught my eye! The CCPL System always strives to give patrons an amazing experience at our four libraries and around the area, so we thought that this would be a great event for all ages. We wanted to have a large event with many vendors, costumes, food trucks, decorations, and especially activities! We loved seeing our regular patrons attend and we also adored meeting new faces and families. We had over 600 people in attendance that Saturday and had amazing volunteers which included the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office, Rustburg Rescue Squad, and the Rustburg Volunteer Fire Department. We also had vendors ranging from local pro-wrestlers to comic book shops, local Star Trek organizations, GameStop, Barnes and Noble, and many more!
600 people! That’s an amazing turn out for a first time event. Plus you partnered with some amazing organizations. I know you saw that we went to SDCC, but why did you choose Laser Tag Source to provide laser tag at your event?
I cannot tell you how amazing it was for us to tell children that they could come to the
CCPL System Comic-Con and play laser tag!!! Their jaws dropped! It was once everyone came and saw the preparation, positive attitudes, and pure fun that only Laser Tag Source could have provided that we knew we hit the jackpot by working with you all. I truly cannot say enough great things about the professionalism and willingness to support the library and its surrounding community. LTS really donated more than their time and equipment that day, they donated fun and I cannot give them enough high fives for all of their support. I would completely work with them again, without any hesitation. Their eye for detail, safety, and providing an entertaining atmosphere was more than exceptional.

Absolutely! Our patrons LOVED it! We saw parents and children participate, only to find them running around and wanting to play it again. What a success it was to have
Laser Tag Source involved! Not only that, staff was really impressed with their professionalism and immediately said that they wanted to work with them again. Two big thumbs up!
We had fun, they had fun, it seemed like a win-win. What tip or trick would you pass along to someone hosting laser tag at their event?
My tip to anyone hosting a laser tag event … to use
Laser Tag Source! They answered all of my questions (and I have a lot) in a very timely manner while going above and beyond to maintain quality and entertainment. Their customer service was out of this world and they really guided us through the process of the laser tag world.
We try to provide everyone with the same event experience that you had with us – we work so hard to provide great customer service and wonderful, fun equipment – but I think you hit on a great point earlier — planning ahead of time really pays off. Your attention to detail was astounding and by contacting us so far in advance, we had the chance to really work through what you wanted to accomplish with your event and make sure we were providing the right equipment – which ended up being a suggestion for two types of equipment, the Phoenix LTX and the Tippmann. Kudos to you for planning in advance!

Bonus – WE LOVE YOU ALL! I selfishly want to work with
LTS all the time. I truly appreciate how open you are to new ideas … along with your excitement to provide new experiences to our community. It is rare to find someone/a group of people that you can completely trust to do what they promise and I am quite grateful for this partnership.
Miss Katie – you are a gem. You all were so great to work with. Plus I love books – it was so fun to do laser tag and be surrounded by tons of beautiful books and people who were at the event to celebrate childhood literacy!
