We had the pleasure of partnering with Lynchburg College and Dance Lynchburg for their laser tag tournament fundraiser this weekend, and it was a blast! (pun intended!)
This weekend Dance Lynchburg hosted a laser tag tournament using the Barracuda laser tag gun. Teams of five paid $100 to enter the tournament, which was held at Lynchburg College’s Wake Field House.
Dance Lynchburg’s mission is so inspiring. They believe in providing the opportunity for dance to anyone regardless of financial, cultural, or any other barriers that may discourage a student. They have a team of highly accomplished instructors who provide one on one classes or group classes.
All of the profits went to Dance Lynchburg, due to local companies sponsorship of the event. The organization had the space donated, along with give-aways, t-shirts and water for all participants. Laser Tag Source provided the equipment, which was the Barracuda laser tag gun and the CCM scoring component. The equipment provides real-time scoring information and the CCM can be connected to a TV, giving everyone the chance to see the scores update as they are playing.
It was a great event, with plenty of feels! It was amazing to see people support a great local nonprofit and have fun doing it. Watching Dr. Garren, the president of Lynchburg College, donate two days of his time to the organization was great. He interacted with every student who came by the gym and served as team captain for several teams. Side note- the man is a genius: his strategy on the field allowed his team to score many points, often winning them the game!
Is your nonprofit hosting a laser tag tournament to fundraise? We make it easy with equipment that can keep up with the demand of running a high stakes tournament along with resources to help you keep track of scores. Let us know about your organization’s fundraiser and we’ll feature you on our blog!
